This is a very simple and delicious salad to make, as made in traditional Ukraine. It is best served cold. You’ll want seconds!
First, you need the following:
1 can of tuna
mayo (three or so spoonfulls)
First, cut off the tails and the greens off the beets. (You can save the greens for a separate salad!) Boil the beets for about an hour and a half or until your fork goes through them very easily. Put them under cold water, and once they are cold enough, peel them. They should peel very easily!
Next, peel the carrots with a peeler or with a knife. Boil them for about 20 minutes or until soft.
Cut up the beets and carrots to be very small. The smaller the better! Cut up the half onion too very small.
Put the cut up beets, cut up carrots, and cut up onions in a bowl. Put the tuna meat into the bowl as well. Finally, put about 3 heapfulls of mayonaise (you can use a regular soup spoon).
Mix all together.
Finally, you get the end result! Serve on your favorite dishware! Enjoy and be sure to make again!
